Berthoud Elyte 8 Pro

When you don’t need the capacity of a knapsack sprayer, this 8-litre compression sprayer with telescopic lance may be a solution. There’s no doubt a lot of thought has gone into the design. Many of the features get the thumbs up from our tester. He discovers the quick-release hose connection on the Elyte 8 Pro. “It’s a great idea. It’s typical that when a worker finishes doing a small job the sprayer will be thrown into the back of the van and is likely to be broken. But with this sprayer you can disconnect the hose and coil it up.”
This sprayer is full of clever tricks, like the way spare nozzles can be stored in a special case set into the filler cap. There’s also a nifty measuring device built into the inside of the cap. Segments of different heights give dosage possibilities of 2ml, 3ml, 4ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml and 40ml. We test it. “It requires careful pouring and good light, but it does actually work,” says the tester. “This is excellent because measuring jugs are always being lost — but you can’t lose the filler cap.”
Thanks to a deep rim that sinks into the ground, the Elyte 8 Pro is sufficiently stable for easy filling. It is also solidly built but shares a disadvantage with most other sprayers in that it is hard to see the liquid level though the side of the tank unless the liquid is dark.
