Beardshaw opens Dobbies Inverness

Celebrity gardener Chris Beardshaw has officially opened Dobbies' new Garden World store in Inverness - the company's fifteenth in Scotland.

The store at the Inshes Retail Park shares an entrance with the neighbouring Tesco.

Andrew Barton, general manager at Dobbies, Inverness, said: "Our new store brings a new-generation garden centre to the area which will not only offer quality, range and value to customers who love their home and garden; but also a unique day-out destination for all the family to enjoy."

Danny Alexander, chief secretary to the Treasury and MP for Inverness, said at the opening: "It speaks to the strength of our local economy that Dobbies have chosen to invest in the centre at Inshes.

"I'm delighted that they are also working to build links in the community, through their garden and children's projects.

"On top of the vital jobs they are creating, I look forward to seeing what they bring to the city."

The development of the former Focus unit next to Tesco at the Inshes Retail Park led the way for a new Dobbies garden centre where, for the first time, Dobbies and Tesco will trade from the same building.
