Bayer holds fire on sales statement

Bayer has said there had been no developments in a plan to consider strategic options for its home and garden consumer products business but a comment could be made next month on the future.

The maker of Baby Bio plant feed's crop protection arm wants to focus on professional customers, Reuters reported in March, when the news agency said that Bayer was preparing to sell the business and was gauging the interest of prospective buyers, which could be private equity or industry players. The business generated 220 million euros in annual sales in 2014.

"A number of strategic alternatives are under consideration," a Bayer representative said at the time. However, this month, a Bayer representative said there had been no further developments following that statement.
