Bayer drops Provado Vine Weevil Killer

Bayer Garden has stopped making thiacloprid-based Provado Vine Weevil Killer.

A Bayer representative said: "We chose not to maintain its accreditation because of the cost of doing so. It's perfectly legal to sell, buy and use; it's just that we don't make it any more."

Neonicotinoid thiacloprid remains legal to use.

French company SBM bought Bayer Garden last month.
