Bayer appoints brand manager

Consumer specialist Christina Bouzala has joined Bayer Garden as group brand manager with the remit of driving a consumer led brand strategy across the company's garden care portfolio.

Having worked for Mars Confectionary and joining from Johnson & Johnson where she was senior brand Manager for Listerine, she has expertise in consumer insight and building brand equity within the UK retail environment, and a track record of increasing market share, says Bayer.
Bayer Garden head Darren Brown said: "We are delighted to welcome Christina on board. Her appointment adds a new dimension to our team.  She has a proven entrepreneurial approach to brand development in different retail categories. Combine this with the depth of market knowledge and the garden care expertise of our existing team and we feel we will be even better well placed to partner with our customer base to advance shopper marketing strategies and build mutual long term business success.
"In 2016 Bayer will have a strong focus on its fertilizer range, including Baby Bio which is acknowledged as the nation’s favourite houseplant food and, with the launch of Baby Bio Outdoor.  Also, Phostrogen, the British brand that’s a staple of potting sheds all over the country, has been rejuvenated for the next generation of gardeners and Toprose has been complemented by Toprose Gold; a boosted granular feed it is the gold standard in rose feed, delivering top class results every time.
"In 2016 Bayer Garden will also be sharing an outlook with retailers on the future landscape of the EU garden chemicals sector which is going through a significant period of change.
"Bayer Garden has many well-known brands which are known and loved by gardeners.  With Christina’s expertise we’ll build on the trust consumers already have in them to add value to the sector and drive strong off-shelf sales."
