Barton Grange Landscapes turns around contract to give hospital the green treatment

Barton Grange Landscapes, which recently won a contract to soften the hard edges to a hospital, have won big praise for the £84,000 job.

Aintree University Hospitals NHS Trust said it is made up with the eight-week job completed recently, which involved bedding, trees and other soft landscaping raking up to the edges of a paved area with seating.

Contracts manager John Charnley said "The informal seating area was created using grey and graphite coloured textured paving softened by planting of trees, shrubs and turfed areas. The seating is for patients, families and staff to sit and enjoy the landscaped area.

"Meanwhile sandstone self-binding gravel paths were installed in an adjoining area along with newly planted fruit trees to create a woodland walk," said Charnley, whose business in Preston, Lancashire, does grounds upkeep and play grounds as well as commercial work.
