Ball Colegrave summer showcase begins

The Ball Colegrave summer showcase at the plant company's trial grounds near Banbury opens on 10 July.

The event features 200 new varieties and a daily new plant varieties presentation from 11am. Bulrush Horticulture's Neil Bragg is speaking on 12, 13, 19, 20, 25 and 26 July.

The showcase includes colour-themed trends, basket and container plants, garden room displays of patio plants, 700 experimental plants, and trade exhibitors including; HortiPak, Bulrush, Panacea, Anglo Eastern Trading, Stewarts, Desch Plantpak, Modiform, Elho, BPOA, MasterTag, and VertiGarden.

The Garden Centre Association (GCA) is hosting its second annual GCA Plant Area Forum for plant area managers and plant buyers at Ball Colegrave on July 20, facilitated by GCA inspector, Roger Crookes.

Ball Colegrave's 2018 Lasting Beauty and Darwin Plants catalogues include 130 new varieties. The Perennial catalogue features 460 Herbaceous Perennials, Climbing Plants, Grasses, Cordylines, Phormiums and Ferns.

New varieties include: Aubretia Katie, Delphinium Aurora, Dianthus Rockin’ Red, Digitalis Foxlight, Lavandula Bandera Pink, Salvia Rose Marvel, Salvia Mirage Hot Pink and 3 new foliage colours in the Heuchera Carnival series.

Ball Colegrave bedding varieties for the 2018 season include introductions in Calibrachoa, Celosia, Dianthus, Digitalis, Hybrid Impatiens, Lavendula, Osteospermum, Petunia, Salvia, Trixi and Verbena.
