Aveling, of Badgeney Farm, Cambridgeshire, plans to retire after he completes this final stint as chairmain. The 67-year-old has grown asparagus on his farm for 30 years.
He has been chairman of the association since 1988.
He said: "I think the association is in extremely good shape at the moment. Everything seems to be going nicely - but I don't think it's good for an association to have a chairman who is 70 years old."
