Association of Professional Landscapers online forum to make comeback

An online discussion forum, which was organised by the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and the Society of Garden Designers (SGD), is to be repeated next week after hundreds of people took part in the first event.

Decorative hedging, paving of front gardens, creating a wildlife haven and planting bamboo were among 49 topics discussed in the first garden landscaping and design forum, hosted by Shoot.

At least 130 people posted questions online during the forum on 21 March and Shoot director Nicola Gammon said she had been delighted with the response.

The second online forum will be held on 8 April, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at, and there are plans for it to become a regular event.

Panel members included: APL chief executive Jason Lock; Broadview Garden Design directors Matt Nichol and Mark Pumphrey; Bell Gardens managing director Andrew Tomes; and The Gardenmakers director David Sewell.

Lock said: "We had a really positive response to the first garden landscaping and design forum, and plan to make this a regular event, providing further opportunities for APL members to communicate with a wider general public."
