The Greenfingers charity raises about £300,000 a year to create three or four children's hospice gardens each year. Wilson's RHS Chelsea Flower Show Royal Bank of Canada garden will be rebuilt at Isle of Wight's children's hospice after the show.
Gardens usually cost £50,000-£200,000. Ashley said the public often believe that the hospices themselves have the money to create the gardens, but insisted that is not the case.
He said: "We want to get in earlier than historically when hospices are being created. The reputation we have built means people are now asking for our help at an early stage."
