Babylon Restaurant at The Roof Gardens in Kensington, part of Virgin Limited Edition, is located on the seventh floor of a former department store with views of London’s skyline.
It also looks over an English woodland garden, one of three themed gardens that make up The Roof Gardens one floor below.
The installation used LazyLawn’s hardwearing "Chill" range, with a two-tone green thatching and lush texture.
Overseeing the job was Oliver Shaw, Virgin’s quantity surveyor. He said the high foot traffic at Babylon meant the artificial turf was the best option over a two- to three-year period.
"It was quickly installed in just one day which meant we didn’t have to close the restaurant.
"We wanted something low maintenance and more economical and LazyLawn did just the trick."
