Amenity Forum event to amplify the need for best practice on weeds and pests

The Amenity Forum is redoubling efforts to reach every corner of the sector on the paramount importance of best practice in weed and pest control.

The group is to host a free conference on 5 February in its latest bid to spread the word. Talks will focus on action plans, standards and training.

Speakers at Bourne in Lincolnshire include Chemicals Regulations Directorate Policy adviser Grant Stark, who will give the latest rundown on the National Action Plan and the effects of the sustainable-use directive on operators and contract specifiers.

Amenity Forum Chairman John Moverley will talk about promoting practice and standards. City and Guilds senior business development manager Natalie Jenkins and BASIS chief executive Rob Simpson will tackle continuing professional development issues.

Progreen Weed Control Solutions, which is promoting the event with the forum, will present a case study on how to achieve good standards.
