Alan Titchmarsh's BBC series, Alan's Garden Secrets, starts tonight at Hatfield House

Alan Titchmarsh’ new four-part series Alan's Garden Secrets, starts tonight on BBC2.

Alan's Garden Secrets, which airs 8-9pm BBC2, 9 November, takes an historical look at the designs of some of the greatest gardens in Britain.

Alan Titchmarsh visits Hatfield House tonight, Stowe next week, Biddulph Grange the week after and Sissinghurst on 30 November. Each garden represents a different century’s style.

Each programme will show garden projects ideas as well as exploring garden design evolution.

Titchmarsh’s latest book 'When I Was a Nipper' takes him on a personal, nostalgic journey through post-war Britain in search of treasured values and traditions.

Meanwhile, TV gardener Monty Don’s new BBC2 series Great Gardens of Italy has been scheduled for February 2011.
