New head of horticulture for Horticultural Trades Association

The Horticultural Trades Association has appointed Raoul Curtis-Machin in the new role of head of horticulture.

He was National Trust commercial development consultant and before that National Trust garden and parks advisor from 2007.

He has also worked for Historic Scotland as a landscape advisor and was an estate manager, publisher of the Northern Garden, head gardener and garden designer.

He co-authored Garden Plants for Scotland with Ken Cox.

His appointment follows the departure of Tim Briercliffe who is joining International Association of Horticultural Producers as secretary general.
