University researchers to use EU grant

Researchers from the University of Aberdeen will use a £4.8m EU grant to explore the puzzle of how plants regulate starch production to tide themselves through the hours of darkness.
Conducted over five years with six international partner institutions, the research will focus on the well-understood thale cress (Arabidopsis thaliana), although it will have implications for all edible crops.
